Dear Colleagues, Dear President and all Members,
In 2006 we have created ESAM as the European umbrella Association in the field of Aerospace Medicine.
As a pan-European, independent forum for aerospace medicine, it will work for the safety and health for all persons involved in aviation and space operations , and coordinate European aerospace medicine interests in all applicable fora. Wemantb assist the responsible bodies in developim and harmmising education in aerospace medicine throughout Europe, develop continuous information and dialogue between the National Aeromedical Associations and encourage the exchange of scientific results and experiences.
There is an urgent need for a single and credible European aerospace medicine voice to develop relations with relevant national and international institutions such as EASA and ICAO.
We can only achieve these goals with the adherence and support of all existing associations in the field of aerospace medicine of Europe , and therefore I would invite Your Organisation or Association to join ESAM from 2007 onwards. The registration form is hereby included.
Our Statutes have been approved at the first General Assembly at Brussels on 18 November 2006 and can be found , together with other information, on our website www.esam.aero. The annual fee has been fixed by the Executive Committee at 10 euro's per member of each association.
I would also invite Your Association together with the membership application to indicate a member for our Advisory Board for a period of two years. This board shall become our think tank to assist the executive Committee in providing responses and advice to aerospace medical scientific questions and regulations. If there would be a request for more information from You or Your members, we will be happy to join one of Your Association's meetings.
I sincerely hope to welcome You and all of Your members to become part of the unique Aerospace Medicine Association's voice of Europe - let's work together for the future!
With friendly greetings,
Former President of ESAM ,
Dr Vermeiren Roland
