The European Society of Aerospace Medicine (ESAM) is delighted to congratulate Dr Anthony Wagstaff on his election as President of the Aerospace Medical Association (AsMA) 2026–2027 

This appointment represents a remarkable milestone for both Anthony and the international aerospace medicine community. 

Dr Wagstaff has been a central figure in aerospace medicine for more than three decades. A co-founder and former President of ESAM, Fellow of AsMA, member of the ESAM Executive committee, and Academician of the International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine, he has made outstanding contributions to research, education, and professional leadership throughout his distinguished career.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Anthony is admired throughout the international aerospace medicine community as an inspiring mentor, a gifted educator, and a genuinely generous colleague. His combination of scientific excellence, leadership, and humanity has earned him the respect and friendship of professionals around the world.

ESAM also wishes to express its sincere appreciation to Dr Warren Silberman for his dedicated leadership and valuable contributions during his tenure as AsMA President.

As Anthony begins this new chapter, ESAM is proud to see one of its founders assume leadership of the world’s foremost aerospace medicine organization. We look forward to supporting him and witnessing the continued advancement of aerospace and space medicine under his presidency.
