The Executive Committee (EC) and Advisory Board (AB) of the European Society of Aerospace Medicine recently convened in Paris for a strategic meeting hosted at the headquarters of Air France-KLM.

The meeting was held at the kind invitation of ESAM President, Vincent Feuillie. The Society was honoured to welcome a distinguished group of members and international experts from across Europe and beyond. Participants included Prof. Claudia Stern, Dr Elena Cataman, Dr Krisztina Szabo, Dr Marja Osinga, Dr Rui Pombal, Dr Norbert Guttler, Dr Felix Liebold, Dr Felice Strollo, Dr François Bernard, Dr Manuel Michno, Dr Roel Vermeiren, Dr Anthony Wagstaff (President Elect of the Aerospace Medical Association), Dr Francisco Rios Tejada (President of the International Academy of Aerospace Medicine), Dr Declan Maher, Dr Diederik De Rooy, Dr Terje Saehle (ESAM President Elect), Dr Joerg F. Hedtmann, Dr Ries Simon, and Dr Vincent Feuillie (ESAM President). 

This meeting provided a valuable platform for in-depth discussions on key strategic priorities for aerospace medicine in Europe. Exchanges focused on fostering innovation, promoting harmonisation of medical practices, and addressing the evolving challenges facing the aviation and space sectors.

A particular emphasis was placed on strengthening collaboration with international partners, including American and global aerospace medicine organisations, with the aim of reinforcing ESAM’s role within the global community.
